Villa in Sinaia
Welcome at Villa PoemBoem!
In 1927, one of the most famous and talented Romanian architects, Toma Socolescu, built a house as a gift for his beloved wife. He built this house in the name of love, inspired by the genuine Romanian architectural style, a wonderful place named now Villa PoemBoem. We redecorated the property (that suffered massive damages during communism time) and gave back its style and spirit of the period.
PoemBoem Villa stands at the entrance of Cumpatu, residential area of Sinaia, opposite the Peles Castle domain – former summer residence of the Romanian Royal Family. Outside, you will enjoy the refreshing air of this lovely mountain resort and the peacefully garden with spring water, inside you will feel the warm spirit of romanticism, preserved by the beautiful deco details, antiques and exquisite chandeliers.
The spacious dining and living rooms, the romantic bedrooms and the unique sales du bain, make our guests feel really welcomed and extraordinary well treated. Modern appliances along with carefully selected beds, linen, towels, and cutleries are consistent with the very exclusive travel experience you will enjoy.
Great selection of music, the fireplace, the candle lights, the massage (by appointment – the villa is equipped with a massage bed) or the sauna will make your stay a truly unforgettable one.
Sinaia offers plenty of opportunities throughout the year: skiing or sledging, during winter season, hiking, mountain biking or just relaxing walks throughout the rest of the seasons. Not to be missed is the superb European “ Indian Summer” reflecting countless number of red, yellow and amber nuances in the tree leaves.
PoemBoem Villa is located close to the most important attractions of the resort: Peles Castle, The Orthodox Monks Monastery and the memorial house of George Enescu, the greatest Romanian composer. Less than one hour drive through the wonderful Carpathian Mountains will take you to the border of Transylvania, at Dracula’s Castle in Bran. And Sinaia is also near the medieval fortress of Rasnov or the beautiful city of Brasov, where you will find unique medieval buildings and the famous Black Church.
Just tell us about your expectations and we will be more than happy to tell you more about what you can do to have a perfect stay in Romania.

Your description of the Villa PoemBoem created big expectations before we came, but, compared with what we found, they were just nothing!!!
The beauty, the charm and the class of Villa PoemBoem are really astonishing and, after a great week, we completely understand its concept and details.
A warm thank you and a big kiss to all of you, dearest friends!
Mulțumim din inimă pentru căldura și pacea pe care am simțit-o în căminul familiei tale! Energia acestui cuib este excelentă și ne-a reîncărcat bateriile. Toate cele bune până la următoarea întâlnire!
The owners had warned us, “remember to leave the house”. We understood what they said when we arrived at this beautiful villa. Cleanliness, amenities and location were amazing. Make this your stay when exploring this beautiful region of Romania.
Villa Poem Boem, Sinaia, where we stayed in September, was built in the 1930’s by its architect for his bride and has been restored and updated by its present owners deftly preserving its romantic origins. In fact, the owners graciously met us there with the key and gave us a tour of the four floors of living space. The building is set against a hillside of conifers and stone staircases giving a vantage to starry nights. We found the house itself to be generously proportioned, clean as a whistle, decorated in rustic elegance, making an ideal hideaway for two or a holiday home for children and adults. The bright, well-appointed and organized kitchen with steel appliances is geared to awaken your inner chef although we chose mostly to dine at nearby restaurants both casual and formal. The local fare of game and delicious desserts is intriguing, strengthening, and unforgettable. We enjoyed the villa’s second floor with its ample closets, beautiful bathrooms. and balconies. Close to Peles Castle, where one can stroll, tour, or sit for hours at the outdoor cafe, Poem Boem, while quiet, is a few steps from civilization. The train station is close by but we drove back from Bucharest by car each day thrilled to see the mountains beckoning from the highway. Polite, discreet housekeeping made one feel at home and like never leaving. You’ll be grateful to the builder for the exercise the interior stairs afford. I was. My husband and I shall be returning to Poem Boem very soon indeed.
We live in Bucharest, have two children and are mountain-lovers,whatever the season. We are always happy to find blessed places and beautiful people, who are truly generous, regardless if you’re staying for a weekend,a whole week,or just one night. That’s how Ioana&Marius made us feel,at their “Poem Boem” villa,in Sinaia’s Cumpatu neighborhood. There are many things to do in the area, such as mountaineering,high-altitude skiing,ice-skating or visiting the Peles Castle,George Enescu’s birth house. The beautiful “Poem Boem” villa brings old Sinaia back to life, with its interior des
Before coming to Romania, I certainly could not have imagined that I would stay with my family for several times at the most beautiful house I have ever been to! It makes a real difference when you enter this villa, the feeling of relaxation, uniqueness and appreciation. I felt appreciated on the one hand by the warm welcome of Ioana and Marius, but also by the house itself. And the fountain water.. And the turkish shower downstairs… I could go on and on. Thanks so much for accepting our 2 bookings for this summer- we are looking forward to our next stay in Cumpatu!
Excellent! The villa interior and exterior is an example of good taste and attention for the detail. It’s even better than you can see in those pictures 🙂 Excellence is not only in design but also in comfort: super-comfy bedding, quality bed linen and towels, 5 star equipped bathrooms, a small kitchen but having everything you might need in perfect condition. The garden is very nice too and has a secret place upstairs where you can stay in the evening with a glass of wine and simply watch the stars…
Location is not far from the center – but in a very quiet & residential area, away from the the other tourists hustling & bustling. Maid-service on request was excellent, also the massage service that was recommended (oh, the villa is equipped also with a massage bed, and also a very modern sauna – we have to come back for the ski period!!)
We’ve rented lots of properties in Europe, and this one is among the best of them!
The owners are really very kind and helpful and also great persons indeed! They provided lots of information about what to do in the area, the cultural events, the best places to eat and so on… Thank you so much!!
Sinaia is the most romantic & cultural place in Romanian mountains, with great walks and also great nature + ski domain. It’s only 1 hour drive to Dracula Castle in Bran and near lots of ski areas. We, our kids and parents, simply felt great here! Izabela Coman
Our family of four stayed a week in this fabulous villa in October just in time to see the first snow fall in the mountains. The villa is very lovely with lots of crystal chandeliers, fluffy down comforters and everything you could possible need or want. Marius and Ioana are very warm and hospitable people who went way out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. This part of Romania is really beautiful and we very much enjoyed our outings to Peles castle, the monastery, and a trip up the funicular. We didn’t have a car but that wasn’t a problem. We walked to everyplace in town and when we were too tired the taxis are really cheap. We also took the train for a day trip to Brasov and Bran castle. I really highly recommend this villa and the area as a wonderful destination!
My wife and I, and our daughter and her boyfriend, stayed at this property for a week in May 2011. Poem Boem is even lovelier than the photographs or the description in the website. However, it is also very welcoming, and we quickly felt right at home. The owners are more than accommodating, and go to amazing lengths to ensure that your stay is as wonderful as it could possibly be. Sinaia is a fascinating mountain retreat town, replete with incredible architecture, winding streets, and attractions– the castles are a must-see! Farther afield, the neighboring towns offer all kinds of great food, wine, and interesting sites to visit, all reached via beautiful winding mountain roads with spectacular views. Everyone who we met were very, very friendly and helpful, despite our language differences. Actually, there were so many things to do that we could have stayed much longer. In reflection, we and our daughter agreed that of all the VRBO places that we have ever stayed– from Australia to St. Petersburg, and from Buenos Aires to Prague– we enjoyed our stay at Poem Boem the very best!
We were a group of 2 families of 4, so the property accommodated us perfectly as there was no coin tossing by the parents to select the bedrooms as the rooms and their ensuites were of equal standard so no one felt hard done by. The 4 children, who ranging in age from 10 to 14, were equally satisfied as they shared an enormous attic room with its own ensuite and TV/games console. The Internet description accurately described the location of the property, it was easy to find and the roads were in very good condition. The photos in the listing only touched on the beauty and charm of the house. The property has all the appearance of being decorated by a professional interior designer or architect as all the spaces are thought through and very usable as well as being very attractive. The furnishing are to a higher standard than expected with enormous attention to detail, every room having a crystal chandelier and antique furniture or ornaments, but without appearing like a museum. It meant that spending time “at home” was very much part of the holiday. The villa was in perfect condition, everything worked (which is not always the case in rental properties). A cleaner came everyday and discreetly emptied the bins and tidied the kitchen and living areas, cleaned out the fire and brought in firewood for the evening fire (not that it was needed as the villa maintained a perfect temperature all day). The owners were very helpful and knowledgeable of the area without being pushy, they both spoke perfect English and suggested activities and places to visit that suited our group and the children’s ages perfectly. We would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away from it all, without being without. We would highly recommend a tour of Castle Peles, unfortunately we missed the bedroom tour, but reception areas were jaw droppingly beautiful and the guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. The restaurant Pizza Pizza close by Castle Peles served the most delicious freshly made pizzas. The children (and adults) enjoyed a trip on the cable car to Cota 1400 and visiting Bran Castle and we spent a very nice day in Brasov. The local restaurant Piatra Soimului were like our private caterers in the evening. We either ate at the restaurant which was a short and rather nice walk away or had a take out either way it was to a high standard and well priced. We can recommend the liver starter (big enough to be a main) and the house white wine.
